Good evening graduates, award winners and guests, welcome to the Toronto Chapter 2011 Ceremonies. My name is Bonnie Mayes CCP, and as Chapter President I have the pleasure of being your host this evening.
Thank you for coming this evening to honour all the CCP Graduates, Credit Specialist and Award Winners.
The Toronto Chapter was formed in 1929 and covers the GTA and surrounding area, bordered by Kapuskasing to the North, Oakville to the west and Port Hope to the east. Education, information, assistance and social events are why the Credit Institute and Toronto Chapter exist. Without creativity and support from the membership the chapter can not grow. Thank you to the dedicated board members who keep the chapter a success.
This year was a tough year due to the sagging economy; however, the Chapter ran a very successful seminar in May on Credit Scoring, presented by Roger Vandomme MSc. MBA, from Equifax Canada.
Another successful event was the annual Golf Tournament held in September at the Cardinal Golf Club...and of course we can not leave out the very successful National Conference that was held in Ottawa this past June.
The Seminar committee is working hard on the next educational event for 2012 … stay tuned for more details.
As President, I represent all of the Board Members in welcoming our newest CCP graduates and Credit Specialists to the Chapter. I urge you to continue your membership in the Credit Institute of Canada and look forward to your input to help the Toronto Chapter grow and continue to be a success.
