Seminar Committee Report 2008-2009
Ram Persaud, CCP Madam President, Ladies and Gentlemen: Through the Seminar Committee, the Toronto Chapter of the Credit Institute of Canada seeks out quality seminars on topics of interest to our members, credit professionals and the general public. The objective of the Committee is to stimulate and promote credit related knowledge. The members of the Seminar Committee have worked very hard to select, investigate, evaluate and arrange suitable seminars. In the past year, the Seminar Committee offered two seminars "The psychology of credit and collection" in May 2008 and "Customer Deductions, Fundamental Lessons and Best Practices" in October 2008. All of these seminars were highly successful and well attended. In fact, I am confident it is safe to assume that there are many amongst us who attended at least one of these events. Following is a list of some of the topics under consideration for the fall 2009 seminar series:
We feel the above are timely topics in light of the present global economic downturn and credit crisis. In concluding, I wish to remind you that we are here to serve the interests of our members and would welcome ideas, suggestions and recommendations on topics that you may wish to see included for future seminar consideration. I encourage everyone here to check Toronto Chapters website www.cictoronto.org regularly for current planned events, including upcoming seminars. Many thanks for attending this evening and have a safe drive home. Respectfully submitted, Ram Persaud, CCP |
