Membership and Human Resources Committee
Goals & Responsibilities

Specifically, these goals are outlined below:

• Monthly Reporting - Each Committee must prepare a report each month and ensure that it is delivered to the meeting either in person, by a committee member or emailed to the Executive Administrator at least three days prior to the regularly scheduled meeting.

• Grow membership overall by 1% for the fiscal year

• Increase penetration of e-mail addresses from the current 48% to 80%.

• Toronto Chapter Membership Directory cost to be breakeven by sponsorship as it was in the 1999-2000 year.

• Develop a marketing database for membership.



Membership Types

Designations

FCI(Emeritus) This is a designation conferred upon deserving individuals for distinguished and meritorious service in the advancement of credit education and the profession in Canada. No more than 50 people may hold this designation nationally.

FCI (Fellow, Credit Institute) The professional FCI designation is granted to individuals, who have graduated from the Credit Institute of Canada's National Credit Management Certificate Program, achieved their practical requirements, and have endorsed a code of professional ethics and professional development program.

ACI This designation is an honorary designation awarded to those individuals who are in senior credit management positions, have contributed at least two years of service on their local chapter council.

Honorary Status This status is awarded to those members who are fully retired and have been a current paid member for ten consecutive years. A letter must be submitted to National Office stating the retirement status and requesting a consideration of awarding the Honorary status.

 

Other Status Categories

Credit Specialist The Credit Specialist Status is awarded to students upon successful completion of the first five courses in the FCI Program; Financial Accounting, Economics, Law, Credit Management and Finance and have achieved their 3 years practical experience.

Affiliate This status is granted to those who are not designated but desire to be involved in the credit fraternity. They are encouraged to make every effort to attend chapter seminars and enrol in courses offered by the Institute.

Student This refers to those members who are currently enroled in the Institute's FCI program.
