Jane Kiss CCP Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Jane Kiss, and I am very pleased to represent you, the members of the Toronto Chapter of the Credit Institute of Canada. As you know the Toronto Chapter is the largest chapter in Canada and it takes a lot of dedication and hard work from many people for it to be successful. In the past, such people as our honoured past presidents, Sue Boultwood, CCP, Rob Garel CCP, Candice McJury ACI and Peter Finlay CCP, to name just a few, have put many tireless hours into making the Toronto Chapter what it is today. It is their dedication and vision that I will strive to meet while continuing in their footsteps, enriching our traditions and moving forward with fresh new ideas. Each of our events this past year has been more successful than ever before, and that will allow us to try some new venues. One of the goals I have this year is to continue networking with other chapters, credit groups as well as with you, our own members. Our mass email program is just one way that we have kept our members up to date on our educational seminars, many yearly functions and other events within the credit community. Our fantastic golf tournament is one tradition that will continue to grow with more sponsorships and more fun, thanks to our great golf committee. Graduation is another highlight of our year when we honour our students who have worked so hard to obtain their CCP or Credit Specialist designations with a very special night at the Old Mill restaurant in Toronto. We are also planning a lot of new and exciting seminars that will be geared not only to the executives of companies but also for those that are just starting out in the credit industry. Please let us know what kind of seminars you would like to see us host. We take great pleasure in inviting all our graduates to become more active in our chapter and on our board. I encourage all our members to take an active interest in the chapter to ensure that a diversified council can meet our future challenges. If any of you have suggestions or ideas for your chapter, please let any one of the executive or board members know so that we can make sure we stay in touch with your expectations. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of being your President for the next term. I look forward to working with each one of you. Before I go, I have the great honour of presenting an award to Sue Boultwood, CCP. Sue, please join me up here. Sue, I want to thank you for all your guidance, leadership, mentoring and all your hard work over the past year. I am pleased to present to you this certificate commemorating your service as our Chapter President for the past 2 years. |
