Jane Kiss CCP
President-Toronto Chapter/CIC

Good Evening, my name is Jane Kiss and I am proud to be your Toronto chapter President for the past year and I am looking forward to the up coming year.

2008 - 2009 has been another great year for us. We have surpassed, yet again, all our numbers at our Golf Tournament and we are looking forward to the same success this year. Start polishing up those clubs, as summer is just around the corner.

In January of this year, we held our first in a long time, dinner meeting. This was a very successful event and we plan to have more special events.

We have had 2 successful seminars. With each one our numbers are growing. This shows us that we are offering the type of seminars that our members want. If you have any suggestions for new seminars you would like to see, please don't be shy, email us and let us know your thoughts.

At graduation in November we honored all of our new Credit Specialists, CCPs and our award winners. This event is always so special for us. Having it held at the Old Mill is one way that we say thank you to all those students that have worked so hard to attain their CCP and Credit specialist status.

We plan to focus on updating our website in the coming months. So please plan to visit it soon. If you have any suggestions, please let us know. We would be more than happy to explore them. Also we are putting in a library which will reflect different letters and forms that you can download for your own use. Please send us samples so that we can keep the library up to date.

As previously announced, the CCP certificates were available for pick up at various locations, this event being the last. The balance of the certificates will be mailed to designated member.

The Credit Institute of Canada National Membership Committee commissioned a salary survey for the CIC members. It showed that those holding our designation earn 9% - 24% more in salary than those without a designation in comparable positions. The survey was sent to all designated members and to those who participated. The committee would like to know if you, the members, have been referring to the survey. May I please have a show of hands for those who have been referring to the survey? Thanks.

I want to thank all of the volunteers for all their hard work; they make my job so much easier. Thanks to all of you.

I also want to thank Sandra, our photographer. She is always there for us for our special events.

One further note, this year the National conference is being held in Winnipeg Manitoba. Winnipeg in June is quite beautiful. I hope to see many of you there. It sounds like it is going to be a very exciting and informative conference.

Thanks for coming and please stay to join us in some light appetizers and refreshments after the order of business.
